Nukus is an interesting city, located in Karakalpakstan, at the far Western end of Uzbekistan. Sightseeing in Nukus and surrounding areas is quite an experience, because you meet courageous people who live in harsh environment. The area has severe climate, from parching heat in the summer to freezing chills in the winter. Also, in one of the tours you will see the sea shore of the Aral sea, which has shrunk two times over the past years, leaving fishing boats on the sand of the desert. In Nukus itself, you can find one of the richest collections of modern art, in the Savitskiy Museum.
